9 months

From the Cuddler to my Sugar Plum,

I waited nine long months to see your beautiful face. Tomorrow, marks nine months since I saw that face. It has me feeling very sentimental.

All I have ever wanted to be is your mother. If you ever doubt that, you can ask Mrs. Anna. She will tell you that in college I told her all I ever wanted to be was a mother and she asked why in the world I would go into chemical engineering if all I wanted to be was a mother. I told her because sometimes you don't get what you want.

For all the things in life that I am flippant about, I am devoted and dedicated to you. You have made me be kinder and gentler to Morning Guy also. I want you to see me treating him with the respect and love that he deserves and vice versa.

I promise to love you enough to teach that life is not fair and to never sugar coat your failures and disappointments. It will serve you well to know that even through difficulties that you are a child of God and that He (along with your family) will provide you with the confidence and strength to persevere.

There will be days when I fall far short of my potential and God given responsibility as your mother. In those days, I will apologize to you and ask God for forgiveness. I will ask God's forgiveness because He has entrusted you to me and that is my life's purpose.

Every day I ask for Him to give me strength, patience, and understanding. I hope my words are kind, my touch gentle, my temper even, and my kisses and hugs welcomed. I am going to strive to be a good mother. Don't worry, your worldly success is not the metric. I will have succeeded if you grow up knowing that there is no self-sacrifice too great for you.

Here we are together for the first time. Don't judge the picture. I had a break down on the 5th attempt to get an IV going.

With all my love.

break on through to the other side

that is what we are telling my top two teeth. My right one is breaking through and we can see the left one. I'm trying to keep my spirits up, but it is kind of ticking me off. That along with the fact that we lost in the World Cup. I mean REALLY?

I haven't told y'all about our trip to visit the Bibbs. We had a great time. I really enjoyed getting to meeting Alex and Kate. They gave me trucks, riding toys, and blocks to bring home with me. What fun! Aren't we good looking? See how I'm flirting with the older and beautiful Kate.

Can I just say that it is HOT. I mean, it is sucking all the fun out of going outside. Well, I'm off to sleep in my new crib. Mine was a drop side, so I got a new nifty crib that Morning Guy put together today.

By the way, he did put this one together in my room. Unlike when the two geniuses put the first one together in the living room and could not get it in my room without taking it apart.

I know, they are a weak gene pool.

Meeting a Dinosaur at the Bibbs

This is just a little snapshot of the fun that we had with the Bibbs. I'll give more details later. It's late and I've been sick so I'm headed to bed.

Father's Day

From the Cuddler to Morning Guy:

You are the father that I always knew you would be. I see the best of you in our beautiful son. These are a few of my favorite things...

You share the cutest dimples at the base of your back.

You both have funny looking toes. As Nonnie said, they kind look swollen.

You both have a thing for guitars.

You have the same crooked smiles and apple cheeks.

I love being the lady in your lives and I love that this is your favorite picture of our family. It is blurry and is not framed properly but it is your favorite. It is who we are.

We love you. Happy Father's Day!

swimming lessons...

Well, it is more The Cuddler and our German teacher, Broomhilda, trying to drown me by counting 1-2-3, blowing in face, and dunking me under the water. Here I am thwarting one of their many attempts to drown me.

I appreciate their tatics about this much...

In the style of my mentor, Gene Simmons, I am telling them to kiss it.

wind blown...

This is what you look like when Morning Guy rides you around on our four wheeler in the Mississippi heat and humidity. My hairs were blowing in the wind.

weekend wrap up

We had a very busy weekend. Saturday, we were invited over for a cookout with my friend, Nicholas. I had a great time. Nicholas can crawl and pull up. I've decided that is very pedestrian. I'm going to continue making this bunch carry me around. The Cuddler inadvertently left with their spoon in her dip bowl. I'm sure we will never be invited back thanks to clepto.

Saturday night, I got to hang out with my Aunt Susan and Uncle Jim while the Cuddler and Morning Guy went out to eat with Aunt Emmy, Christopher, John Martin and Linds. They went to Crechale's and had a great time. They talked about their Papaw and laughed entirely too loud for too long. They also talked about how sad they were that I may never get to go down to Venice, LA fishing with our family. It has been a family tradition for over fifty years. It was enough to make The Cuddler pull a tear.

I had my follow up with my neurosurgeon today and I got a fabulous report. My head is on the big side of normal but nothing to worry about.

I have been giving The Cuddler and Morning Guy the business. My top four teeth are all coming in at the same time and you just cannot please me.

But for you people, I smile with a frog...

dropped me like I was hot...

My Nonnie and Pappaw left me to go the beach in their travel dumpling on my first Memorial day. We were not invited. Oh wait, 24 hours before they left we were offered a pity invitation.

They dropped me like I was hot.

That's OK, I made use of their pool every day of the holiday, and I looked dang good doing it.

On Saturday morning, I got to hang out with Baby Mo and watch the Cuddler, Leigh, and Mo's mom eat pancakes. We were not offered any pancakes. Figures.

Mary Elizabeth and Julia came over and went swimming with me. It was a great weekend. And I went over to see my Nonnie and Pappaw Monday night when they got home and everyone but me enjoyed some delicious shrimp (compliments of my Uncle Chris, who WAS on the beach trip). We all went swimming again.
