Birthday Eve.

To my dearest Plum the day before your first birthday:

Sometimes at night when you let me rock you to sleep, my heart skips a beat. There is no better feeling than your heavy head resting against my heart. You don't mind that I can't sing. I sing the same couple of verses from David Allen Coe, Tanya Tucker, and Amazing Grace. I make up the words when I can't remember the real words.

I have explained to your father that if a tornado hits our house, he better hope he doesn't survive without you. I truly believe that God means for he and I to spend our lives together and without him, I would be a fraction of myself, but the sun would rise as would I, to care for you and support you. I have seen another do it. I would have to fulfill my life's purpose to be everything God intended me to be for you. However, without you, the world would stop turning, my brain would cease to function, my heart would break. I have seen others persevere but they must be made of stronger stuff.

All at once, I regret bringing you into a world that is filled with hate and greed when you are so pure and I believe that you can change the world. Loving you makes me want to adopt babies that, for whatever reason, don't have someone loving them. I can't imagine not loving you.

Don't think that this love means that I'm going to let you run all over me. I see that twinkle in your eye. I already have a wooden spoon picked out to threaten you with.

I love you to the moon and back.

Big Boy Class

I started the big boy class at daycare today. Lots of changes in there. No bottles, no baby food, and you have to wear shoes and lay down from 12-2 on a cot. I did great other than that cot requirement.

A big kid took my toy and I snatched it right back, Miss Aly says I'm going to be just fine. I ate all of my food and I used my sippy cup. The teacher tried to hold me during outside play time since I'm the only one that can't walk, but I got down, crawled to the fence, and tried to climb the fence.

I like a nap around 9:00 in the morning which is a long way from 12:00. My lack of morning nap and the fact that I only slept for one hour at nap time, left for a very tired Plum.

On Wednesday night one year ago, the Cuddler had eaten her potato soup from McAlister's as her lite meal and was anxiously trying to go to sleep. It was almost time to meet me. What a difference one year can make.

Bulldogs and friends!

What a weekend! It was filled with friends, family and football! We visited our friends the Krakers in Starkville and tailgated before the football game. I got to visit with the Cuddler's cousin, Leslie...

with my future roommate, Nathan, and his daddy, Brian.

We also ran into Emmy, Christopher, John Martin and Linds at the tailgate. Sorry for the loss Christopher, but better you than us! Go STATE!

I bathed with Anni. I'm sure this will come back to haunt us one day.

Anni and I found trouble.

And Julian took Anni and I for a ride on his tractor.

I need me one of these. Maybe one of you is going to get me one for my birthday on Friday? No? ok.

I'm going to bed.

beach part I

I got to go to the beach. I had a great time. We stayed right on the beach so I got to go out in my P.J.s first thing in the morning...

My PawPaw made special treats for the sea gulls. They would squawk then I would squawk. It was all fun and games until one pooed on my Nonnie's head. She did not think it was funny at all...

Do y'all know how delicious sand is? I could eat it all day...

After all of this sand, my PawPaw took me back to the house so I could clean up.

He hates the sand so it was no great sacrifice for him to take me in.

cowboy

My PawPaw has been out in New Mexico and he has seen cowboys and what not. I was missing him so much that I decided to be a cowboy. How do you like my little red rocking chair? It was my Uncle Chris's when he was little. I love it.

I can't wait to see him and see what he brought me back from his trip.

Too Much Weekend

My friend, Miss Laurin, has a saying when the cuddler comes in looking tired on a Monday, "She had too much weekend." This means that she had too much fun and not enough rest.

Friday, Morning Guy and I stayed home and worked on getting our house ready to sell. I have been invaluable in this process.

That afternoon, my Grannie and Aunt Patsy came over to visit.

This picture really does my Aunt Patsy justice, she has the sweetest spirit and gentlest nature, she laughs and loves big.

On Saturday, we watched the State game at my Non and PawPaws with some friends. If you don't know how that went, I'm not going to tell you. I ate a lollipop that my Aunt M gave me and can I tell you that it was one of the best things on earth? First you get to beat it on the highchair tray, then you lick it, then you rub it on your belly and for the finale, you stick it in your hair!

Sunday, I got to help my PawPaw fry deer meat for our delicious lunch. First, he had to love on me.

Then, I told him, "stop messing around and help me get lunch ready!"

After my big lunch of deer meat, dove, mashed potatoes, biscuits, green beans and birthday cake, I rested on the couch with my cousin, Kelsey.

Last, but not least, I want to wish Christopher a happy birthday! We love you and hope you had a great birthday!

Happy Birthday, Morning Guy!

I've loved you since the moment we met

and even more so now

Say goodbye to your 20s and hello to 30. At least you have the Cuddler to keep you company.

Much love, The Plum
